What this covers

This page describes what the Northloop app stores about you, why it stores it, and how you remove it. It is written in plain words. Northloop is made by Alyara Apps Studio in Dubai.

What we store

• Your email address, to sign you in. There is no password. Only you and Northloop see it. It never shows on a roster.
• Your first name, so the host and your group know who is coming. You can hide it from other members. Then you show as “Member”. The host always sees your name.
• Your confirmation that you are 18 or older. We do not store your date of birth.
• How you describe yourself, if you choose to say, so women-only sessions work. You can choose “Prefer not to say”.
• The areas and activities you pick. Choosing an area shows interest. It does not verify where you live.
• The sessions you join, leave or wait for, and your attendance, as you and the host record it.
• Messages you write in a session’s group chat. Only people in that session read them. The chat closes 24 hours after the session ends.
• Reports you send and people you block.

Usage events

The app records four moments: it opened, you viewed a session, you shared a session, you viewed Explore. Each event stores your account id, the event name and, where relevant, the session or area id. It stores no text you typed, no location and no device data.

These events are deleted 400 days after they are written. All of your events are deleted when you delete your account.

Location

The app can use your location once, to suggest an area, when you tap “Use my location”. It does not track you, and it never shows a member’s position to anyone. The Explore map shows venues, not people.

Weather

The Today board shows a forecast for Dubai. The app asks a weather service for the forecast of the area, not for your position.

Who sees what

• Members who can join a session see the first names on its roster, unless a member hid theirs.
• The host sees the names of everyone in their session.
• Nobody outside a session reads its chat.
• Nobody is told when you block or report them.

Services we use

Northloop runs on Supabase (account, database and sign-in emails). Sign-in emails are sent through Resend from login@northloop.app. These providers process data on our behalf. We do not sell your data, and we show no advertising.

Delete your account

In the app: You → Delete account. This cannot be undone.

• Sessions you host that have not started are cancelled. Their members are told.
• Your places in other sessions are released, and you leave every waitlist.
• Your name, areas and preferences are removed. Past sessions show “Deleted member”.
• Your usage events are deleted.
• You are signed out on this phone, and your other devices sign out when their sign-in ends.

What Northloop keeps: reports, blocks and the safety record of what happened in sessions. Northloop keeps these to protect other members, not to contact you.
